How Is Selena Gomez Handling the Justin Bieber Baby Daddy Rumors?

 Devoted Beliebers got the shock of their lives Tuesday evening as news broke of a 20-year-old woman named Mariah Yeater filing a paternity lawsuit against Canadian pop phenom Justin Bieber, claiming she had a 30-second tryst with the "Baby" singer following a concert last year. Yeater, who gave birth to a son in July, seeks a paternity test and financial support.

Almost immediately, Justin's devoted fans denounced Yeater's claims, while others speculated that the rumors would hurt Bieber's longtime girlfriend, former Disney star Selena Gomez.

While Bieber has taken to Twitter to brush the news aside ("so Im going to ignore the rumors...and focus on what is real. an opportunity to help by doing what i love. Judge me on the music! Love yall!"), Selena hasn't commented on the scandal. With all the PR training she's submitted to over the course of her career, it's unlikely she ever will.

But the whispers are bound to hurt, especially when the court papers filed include embarrassing assertions like, "he was clearly embarrassed about how the sex did not last very long. He immediately put on! his clo thes and blew me off when I asked about seeing him again."

We're guessing Selena's got Justin's back on this situation just don't expect her to talk about it publicly anytime soon.
