Selena rose to fame thanks to the Disney Channel, but she admits it is no where near as tough as most people expect it to be as she always got to do things on her own terms.

She added to US Elle magazine: Disney is a machine, so people automatically assume that you can't work for the channel unless you act and sing and dance and sign up for all that. That's absolutely not true. I always did everything the way I wanted to do it."

However it was Jennifer Lopez who inspired Selena to get into Hollywood after she saw her wearing a bustier in the movie Selena.
