Selena Gomez on Friendship With Taylor Swift: Its Hard to Trust Girls
In the new issue of Nylon magazine, on stands January 29, Gomez talks about the bond she has formed over the years with Swift.
"We both experienced the same things at the same time," she says. "But we've never once talked about our industry. She just became the person I'd go to for an issue with my family or boyfriend. It's so hard to trust girls, so I'm lucky to have her."
Its safe to say then that Gomez has likely been turning to Swift in the wake of her breakup with Justin Bieber. At press time Jelena was on-again, but the Spring Breakers star still played coy about her romance.
Im just having fun, Gomez, 20, said about her at-the-time-active relationship. She and Bieber have been tabloid fodder from the moment they first got together, but Gomez confesses she doesnt read blogs unless its really bad.
Gomez who is currently single an! d loving it was asked if its easier to date someone like Justin whos also in the business and knows the drill.
At the end of the day, love is such a normal thing, and everyone deals with it, she responded. Just because its a different lifestyle doesnt change the meaning of what Ive been raised on, which is fairy tales.
Next up for the Love You Like a Love Song singer is her racy film Spring Breakers which also stars Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson. But dont expect the Disney darling to shed her good girl image just yet.
"I think [the paparazzi] are over me because I'm so boring, Gomez says. I get to Topanga Mall, and they're like, 'Why is she back at the same place?'"
Spring Breakers is set to hit theaters later this year.
