Selena Gomez will perform at MTVs New Year's Eve bash
Selena Gomez is likely to ring in the New Year with boyfriend Justin Bieber, since both are slated to perform in New York City on New Years Eve.
HollywoodLife reports the 19-year-old former Wizards of Waverly Place star announced on Friday that she is scheduled to perform at MTVs New Year's Eve bash, the same night Bieber, 17, is appearing on Dick Clarks Rockin New Year's Eve over on ABC.
Hey Everyone-- Not sure if you know but, I will be the first performance for MTV in 2012 at the strike of midnight I will be performing at MTVs NYE Party. Wanna join me in New York for the countdown? the actress posted on her Facebook.
No word yet on if the lovebirds will be able to share the traditional midnight kiss, since they will be on two different shows.
Bieber will join Lady Gaga, Pitbull, and Hot Chelle Rae to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Rockin Eve with hosts Clark and Ryan Seacrest. Jenny McCarthy will report live from Times Square, while Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas will host the Los Angeles-based portions of the show.
Last month Clark expressed his thoughts on the special milestone.
"It hardly seems possible that we began telecasting, New Year's Rockin Eve 40 years ago. Armed with just a couple of cameras and a skeleton crew, my wife and I stood atop a Times Square building and watched the thousands of happy celebrant! s in Tim es Square," Clark said in a statement. "The army of talent we had join us over the years has truly been outstanding, and this year we top it off with an appearance by Lady Gaga."
