Selena Gomez thanks fans for support after mother's miscarriage
The 'Love You Like a Love Song' singer originally announced that her mother Mandy was expecting her first child with husband Brian Teefey in November, saying that she was "the happiest girl in the world" to welcome her first sibling.
However, Gomez axed several concerts last week after her rep confirmed that Mandy had suffered a miscarriage.
Gomez took to her Twitter page on Monday to express her appreciation for the well-wishes received by supporters in the wake of the tragic news.
"Belated Merry Christmas everybody. I can't thank you enough for all of your thoughts and prayers. I love you all so much and we hope you and your family had a beautiful Christmas!" she wrote.
Gomez will perform alongside Jason Derulo at MTV's New Year's Eve party.
