Justin Bieber Explains Why He Rents Out Theaters for Selena Gomez

Though these dates seem like these grand statements of love and money, it sounds like the Bieb does it for practical reasons: He's a spectacle in public.

The 17-year-old superstar explained that he can't go anywhere without people staring, so he has to do things like rent out entire theaters in order to enjoy a movie with his gal. He said (via Fox): Its kind of awkward. If I go into a movie theater everyone is not looking at the movie, they are looking at us.

Im looking at the movie but everyone is looking at me like if Im the movie or something," he added.

But don't think he doesn't know these over-the-top gestures aren't also awesome. He said his Staples Center date a few months back was "taken a little bit from Mr. Deeds."
