Selena Gomez explains new tattoo and ring

Justin Bieber has several tattoos of his own, and now it looks like his girlfriend is on her way.

E! Online reported the actress was recently spotted sporting a new tattoo on her wrist.

Many speculated that it was a heart inspired by her love for Bieber but the Love You Like a Love Song singer told Access Hollywood, that the tattoo is not a heart, but rather a tribute inspired by her career.

Its a music note, she told the entertainment news show at The Fifth Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar party in Los Angeles on Friday.

Everybody thought that it was a heart for some reason, but music is a big influence in my life.

Gomez further explained how music has played a large role in her life.

I was named after a singer, Im a singer and a lot of other personal reasons, she said. So, thats what I got.

The 19-year-old was also wearing a new diamond-studded, J-shaped, prompting many to wonder if she and Bieber were taking their relationship to a new level.

No, no thats like almost a friendship ring, she said. Its just for fun.

However, she refused to show her ring off to reporters, saying she get(s) nervous and that youll see it in pictures!

Guess well just have to wait for the paparazzi to get on that.
