Selena Gomez (FameFlynet Pictures) Selena Gomez had a wonderful night at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party last night at the Sunset Tower, but something was missing. A very big something: her boyfriend Justin Bieber!Actually, Bieber made an appearance at the ceremony -- in the form of the video opening done by host Billy Crystal -- but he was nowhere to be found at any of the festivities. Now, there's no official word as to why Gomez opted to bring her mom Mandy Teefey instead of her man, but sources have been speculating.
Some say it's because Gomez needs to make sure she's not overshadowed by her insanely popular BF. Selenas camp doesnt want Selena to be known as Justin Biebers Girlfriend rather than an actress and a singer or entertainer, an unnamed source told HollywoodLife.com.
Plus, we know the Biebs has been busy in the recording studio so perhaps he just didn't have time to take the red carpet. Who knows.
Whatever the reason, we're sure thes! e two ar e still doing fine. They just celebrated their one-year anniversary, after all!
