Now that Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's relationship has gone the way of most Hollywood love stories, one can surmise from the stories coming out that the teen crooner with the famous haircut will leave no stone unturned on his way to finding his next girlfriend. But what about Selena Gomez? Well, if she's wise, she will avoid the following five mistakes other celebrities have made.

Avoid Becoming a Serial Dater like Taylor Swift

Sure she spent two years in a relationship with a teen idol, and she may be tempted to play the celebrity field for a while, but there is never a reason to take things as far as Taylor Swift has. Swift not only seems to have a new boyfriend every other week, but she has gotten into the bad habit of dissing her discarded lovers in the songs she writes. A singer as well as an actress, Gomez should avoid going Swift's route at all cost. After all, the world does not need two young songsters dishing t! he dirt on their past romances.

Avoid Appearing Topless in a Movie like Anne Hathaway

Sometimes breakups may lead to lapses in judgment, and the squeaky clean former Disney star should avoid going the way of such other actresses like Anne Hathaway, who have gone from doing rated G-rated movies to appearing topless on screen . While Hathaway at least waited until she was a rather accomplished actress with a slew of movie credits under her belt, Gomez's movie career is just in its infancy and such a move could curtail her budding career.

Avoid Entering an Affair like Kristen Stewart

Maybe it was momentary and impulsive but Kristen Stewart's affair with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders has done nothing for her acting career. However, she is now back with former "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattison. So given the results, maybe a "momentary indiscretion" may cross the mind of the former "Wizard's of Waverly Place" star, but do we really need to read about Gomez in an affair, or worse, back with Justin Beiber?

Avoid a Tabloid Marriage like Kim Kardashian

Now that she is happily entrenched in the arms of Kanye West, it's even easier to see the farce that was the 72 day marriage of Kim to NBA basketball star Kris Humphries. Whether she did it as a publicity stunt and/or fodder for a reality show is certainly open to speculation, but in the end it made for easy tabloid headlines. And while Gomez appears to have a good head on her shoulders, it's certainly within the realm of possibility for her to re-bound ! into a qu! ick and regretful marriage.

Avoid Becoming the next Lindsey Lohan or Amanda Bynes

Not that Selena Gomez has given any indication of being a party girl, but one has seen enough young celebrities party their way into oblivion to know that it would not be a good idea to follow in the footsteps of Lindsey Lohan or Amanda Bynes. Right now the 26-year-old Bynes seems to be Hollywood's poster girl of the year for DUI arrest and erratic behavior. No need for Gomez to give her a run for the money.
