Selena Gomez joins indie film 'Parental Guidance Suggested'

Selena Gomez has been cast in Parental Guidance Suggested.

The upcoming indie film is an adaptation of Ric Browde's 2000 novel While I'm Dead ... Feed the Dog.

The Spring Breakers star will play Nina Pennington, the crush of 16-year-old Ric Thibault (Nat Wolff), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager's Austin Stowell will play Nina's overbearing boyfriend.

The story focus on Gomez and Wolff's characters as they go on a rock 'n' roll-themed journey together.

Parental Guidance Suggested, directed and written by Tim Garrick, also features Dylan McDermott and Cary Elwes.

Gomez recently attended the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, where she was nominated in the 'Choice Female Hottie' category.
