Selena Gomez on Justin Bieber romance: 'We wanted to make it normal'
Gomez reportedly ended her romance with the 'Boyfriend' singer around the beginning of this year, though rumours have continued to circulate about the status of their relationship.

In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, Gomez has now admitted that the media attention surrounding her relationship with Bieber did not affect her too much.
"That's not a factor for me because unfortunately you can't control that," she said. "To me, love is normal. Of course, you see Jay and Beyonc and you're like, 'Oh my gosh, they're perfect for each other', but at the end of the day their love is just like everybody else's love.
"They have problems, I'm sure, and they solve them, like anybody else. So to make it as normal as possible - in such an abnormal lifestyle - was super i! mportant to both of us. Which was great... That's how it should be."
Gomez insisted that she believes in love but admitted that she doesn't get "asked out a lot" and added that it's difficult to date people who aren't involved in the entertainment industry.
"It does get really hard and stressful," she said. "My first boyfriend wasn't [in the industry] and it all sort of started happening, so... I felt bad."
Gomez also confessed that her job has had a bad impact on her in some ways, saying: "It's hard for me to tell myself to trust people and be open, because I don't. That's one of the negative things about this industry, that makes you very scared of everybody and their motives. It's sad, but that's how you have to protect yourself."
Gomez can next be seen in the movie Spring Breakers, which will be released on March 15 in the US, and April 5 in the UK.
