Justin Bieber battery investigation: Singer 'roughs up' photographer during Selena Gomez date

It was the story which shocked millions of teenage girls everywhere - idol Justin Bieber allegedly shoving a paparazzo during a romantic date with girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The scuffle allegedly happened when the photographer tried to snap pictures of the 18-year-old and his Selena, after they walked out of a theater at The Commons at Calabasas in May.

No charges were ever brought against Justin but it has emerged today (Sunday) that the police would like to talk to the couple for more information.

TMZ reported that after an initial police review the incident was passed over to to the District Attorney.

It has now been returned to the police with a request for more information.

TMZ state: 'The police file went to the D.A. for review in June -- but law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the D.A. has since kicked it back ... asking for more info. So far, cops have not made contact with the two singers -- but they plan to very shortly.

'Sources close to Jusin tell us, the singer will happily yak it up with cops. Selena's people could not be reached for comment.'

TMZ had claims that the paparazzo filed a police report.

While Justin failed to keep calm during the altercation, Selena, 19, was seen helping Justin retrieve his baseball cap and one of his high top trainers after they flew off during the incident.

She also appeared to be saying some soothing words to her beau as she chatted to him while tenderly stroking his arm to calm him down.

However the level-headed starlet did look a little concerned during the ordeal.

Meanwhile, Justin had a face like thunder as he put his shoe back on while being comforted by his girlfriend.

The pop star then walked away with his head in his hands seeming somewhat embarrassed at his behaviour.

The incident occurred as the pair were making their way to a cinema to enjoy a movie date.

Along with his plum-coloured hat and trainers that had flown off, Justin was sporting an aquamarine T-shirt and black jeans.

And Selena looked summery in a printed monochrome maxi dress with a split up one side, which she teamed with brown sandals.

A representative for Justin Bieber declined to comment when contacted by Mail Online.
